Stainless steel chainrings are super robust and many times more durable than comparable aluminium chainrings. This chainring reflects Wolf Tooth’s constant strive for lasting quality: It is made from 416 stainless steel and is thus much more robust than products made from the usually used steel of the AISI 300 class (stainless steel grade A).

CAMO

Wolf Tooth has developed the CAMO (Chainline and Material Optimisation) range so that you can replace the original direct mount chainring with the spider/chainring setup if required.

By mounting a Spider + Wolf Tooth single chainring, you can perfectly adjust the chainline to your riding habits, achieve higher shifting precision and at the same time reduce costs when the chainring has to be replaced. Icing on the cake: The spiders are available in different colours and pimp the look of your bike at the same time!

Many bikers now use an oval chainring on their 1x drivetrain for one simple reason: This design has been proven to deliver improved riding characteristics.

The concept behind oval shaped chainrings can be summed up as follows: The biomechanical power output when pedaling varies during a pedal stroke; at positions where power is higher, the chainring has a larger diameter. The resulting larger drive area correspondingly converts power into greater forward drive. At positions where there is less power output, the smaller chainring diameter maximizes pedal stroke efficiency. This means a higher pedaling power with every pedal rotation.

Wolf Tooth points out that using the Elliptical chainring results in steadier torque at the rear wheel, as downward spinning is reduced and pedal rotation is smoother and more efficient. The smoother torque on the rear wheel provides better traction and consistent momentum – ideal for tough climbs and headwinds.
